Hackett Chief Operating OfficerBRYN MAWR, PA—Edward Devinney, Ph.D., President of Metanexus Institute, is pleased to announce the promotion of Brenda G. Hackett to Chief Operating Officer. She will be responsible for overall management of Metanexus, including fundraising, staff development, Board development and fiscal responsibility, working closely with the Executive Committee of the organization. Ms. Hackett, a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, has been the Chief Financial Officer of Metanexus for five years. The primary focus of her career has been financial management of non-profit organizations, including Opportunities Industrialization Center of Philadelphia, Children’s Literacy Initiative, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Young Playwrights, YWCA of Philadelphia, and Little Neighborhood Schools. In addition, she served as Controller at Theodore Presser Company. Married to Paul J. Hackett, Ms. Hackett is the mother of four and grandmother of nine. Her community involvement has been broad based, including leadership of religious and sports programs for children, founding of a neighborhood association, a variety of religious activities, formerly secretary of the Wayne Business Association and a committee member of the Main Line Chamber of Commerce.
